2019 ZAA Scholarship Winner: Laryn Zvokel

In fall 2019, I will be attending Marquette University. Marquette is a small Jesuit university in Milwaukee, WI. I plant to major in biomedical sciences on a pre-health track with an intention to pursue a career as a Physician's Assistant. Marquette has a very strong PA program which is one of the many reasons I chose this school.

While at Marquette, I plan to spend time studying abroad and after earning my degree, hope to serve in a medical capacity overseas. In the summer of 2018, while on a mission trip to Haiti, I met a physician named Elizabeth who had been working in a local medical clinic for two years. I too, want to bring healthcare to areas of need. Global health is something I have a passion for and something I believe I can contribute to in the future.

This summer, in 2019 I am going to Haiti again and further explore my passion(s). I trust this will help confirm my future plans.
Godspeed all!
Laryn
